I want to express something about my art…and I imagine there is no other way but to use words (in this instance).

My art is one of experience.
My pieces aren’t finished unless they have been part of the communal encounter, a RITUAL where we call our ancestors, remember them without illusion but with gratitude and love, and ask what they say about who we are and where we stand.

So any art pieces here (when ready) turn into what remains: witnesses and repositories of that lived joy, longing, gratitude, pain and love, and of the dancing, eating, drinking and toasts we share.
