Jiwasa is a participatory work by Sharoll Siñani, staged at the Queens Museum, the Harvard Club of New York, and NeueHouse. Two hours. Everyone carries home what they made.
Sharoll Siñani is an Aymara artist and writer, born in Bolivia and based in New York City. Across painting, poetry, installation, and communal practice, she transforms lived experience, intellectual inquiry, and spiritual conviction into work that seeks not only to represent the world, but to act upon it. She trained at the Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes in La Paz and earned an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the first Aymara Bolivian to graduate from Harvard. She is the author of two trilingual art and poetry books, From the Center and To Senkata and To My Dead.
